"Which of the following have you done while driving?: Texting: 45, Eating: 125, Reading: 18, Adjusting stereo: 125, Picked up something you dropped: 75, Talking on the cell phone: 128" - Scottsbluff High School survey of 100 PTA members
One more reason why Nebraska Loves Public Schools? Students like the ones at Scottsbluff High School. The school's student senate has launched an anti-distracted driving campaign funded by a grant issued to the Scottsbluff County Health Department.

First on the agenda was to survery parents and their kids. The results were quite telling with 60 percent of seniors confessing that they text while driving even though they've talked about it with their parents.

The teens are also using social media to spread the word by creating a "JST DRV" Facebook page in late March.

Read more survery results and how the student senate is taking action in this article from the Scottsbluff Star Herald.

Nice work, SHS! NElovesPS is proud of you!

Texting and driving is really scary, and I am guilty of doing it too. Thank you to these teens who are trying to change behavior of their peers. Keep up the good work!
